Van Gogh is probably my favourite painter of all time, I find his work visually interesting especially in his unique style.

The reason I like the work of Vincent Van Gogh is because of his stylings, how distinct and how recognisable. His work is different to traditional with a very impressionistic style, I like this because of its imperfection yet still has ability to draw you in. He has a strong sense of uniqueness about his work, including the emotions it makes you feel. Unlike other paintings he manages to portray a multitude of emotions through his brushwork.

Van Gogh is a Dutch artist, considered one of the most famous and influential artists throughout recent history and in the present. He was born on the 30th of March 1853 and died in 1890 as a result of his poor mental health.

His typical work includes landscapes, portraits and still life, creating over 2,100 pieces of art. He didn’t start focusing on painting and drawing until his later life during the 1880s, during this decade he created most of his artwork.

He has also done a range of work related to the sea such as Seascape at Saintes Maries which depicts sail boats at sea.
