Today was the device elevator pitch, we had to present our current idea to the rest of the class and essentially explain everything about it. Since this meant we now had a set in stone idea I'll use this as an opportunity to describe what the device is here.

We are creating something fairly normal but with some added twists to it. It is essentially a portable cup, used for storing drinks like coffee, coke or it could even be used to store soup. However, it has the ability to heat and cool the liquid to any exact temperature.

It uses a built-in computer and screen so that people are able to change the set temperature from the cup itself. It also has a fingerprint scanner so if people wish, it will not work without permission from the user. The cup also connects to your smartphone/watch/tablet if users wish to control their device without having to be near it. This means they could set their cup to heat up whilst getting ready for work as an example.

The cup also measures the nutritional information of the contents inside, this could be calories, sugar etc. The information can be found either on the built in device or through the app, this will be useful for anyone trying to cut back on unhealthy lifestyles. That's why it also has the option to tell users what the recommended amount they drink per day is.

It also features an NFC chip which allows for contactless payment so the user doesn't even need to get out their wallet.

This project has been an interesting one, I learned a fair amount however it wasn’t necessarily what I expected from this project....
