I feel I’m at the point where I understand what kind of visual language and aesthetic I like to use in my work as a photographer and filmmaker, I love using the idea of cinema as a big inspiration behind my work. This would be aspects such as atmosphere and narrative. Even in photography I like to give it a cinematic feel, as if it were a still from a film, this could be done by implying a story behind the image or using influence from shots used in films. One of my main focuses is how I can use light to change the mood and atmosphere of my work, how colour and placement could even help enhance the narrative. Throughout my work one of the main goals I always have in mind is moving outside of my comfort zone and taking creative risks. I like learning new methods to make my work better and gain more experience instead of just using what I already know. This year I did this a lot such as experimenting with CGI or making myself film with nobody else during lockdown. I feel like I’ve progressed a lot compared to a year ago thanks to this.
