This set of photos followed the ideas I took from the fashion experiments and the previous inspirations that I've been exploring in the project so far. I went in a new direction where I wanted to step away from the warmer and more vibrant colours and instead have a colder and darker set of photos. The key bit of inspiration here was the A24 film The Lighthouse for the lighting and the idea of dystopian futures in different forms of media.
I started the set with photos very similar to the fashion shoot, I was experimenting with the idea of the light obsessing with the person in contrast to my original idea where it was the opposite way around. It started out with the person in focus and the light in background before the light changed colour and eventually became the focus. I also did 3 with the person from the light's perspective. These all looked at the idea as if the light had a conscious and wasn't just an object. I also did some with the person gone with only the light left, left up to the audience's minds as to what happened to them.
After this was where I moved a bit away from the fashion photos, I wanted to look at the darker images both in lighting and atmosphere. They feature the silhoutte of a person surrounded by multiple lights just watching them. I went for a very sinister atmosphere for these, the person was no longer being followed by or following the light. Instead this was something very static in movement. I wanted it to have a sense of mystery that left the context up to the viewer.
I prefered these photos to the ones I've worked on during this project, I used The Lighthouse in combination with my own work as the main source of inspiration for this.
