Currently my new idea had to work around the new national lockdown, I had to find something I could easily do from home or within the restrictions. Since I only have myself to act I changed the narrative from following someone in the third person where it kept a sense of mystery and abiguity behind them and their actions. With the lack of equipment to film how I wanted to instead I'll be telling a narrative through images, mostly without a character. Instead it'll almost be a first person perspective as if they took photos about this altered states experience. Whilst I won't be using film I plan on testing out animating the still images to add a sense of movement and make them feel more dynamic. I know there are a range of programs to do this easily without a massive amount of technical knowledge. I'll take photos of these bright mysterious lights inside my house and outside, showing someone's perspective of following them much like my previous idea.

Inspired by the Lighthouse, a film I watched during the first lockdown, the narrative still follows the person's obsession with reaching this light to the point that it'll drive them insane. In the lighthouse one of the themes is a character's obsession with gaining access to the top of the lighthouse which is one of the factors that aids in driving him insane. A good description of the film's themes and plot can be found here.

The biggest changes are the medium, location and perspective but it still essentially follows my original theme. 'The idea behind this is the concept of dreams and obsession, the figure is obsessed with reaching this bright light, what it is we are left to guess. What we do know is that for them it is unobtainable but no matter what they keep following, even if it blinds them or drives them insane. Or it could be a representation of their ambitions however they feel stuck, like it is always out of reach. They are seemingly dreaming of trying to reach this in some very weird and surreal space that contains a sense of familiarity mixed with the unfamiliar.'

However, before I make the final outcome I'll start with a series of test shoots for further practice and to help give me an idea of what I'll need to do technically to make these ideas possible / any changes I'll need to make in the project.
