This workshop took a look at using stop frame animation, not something I had considered before for the project. I went in with an open mind should I find any inspiration or ideas on how I could use this. The first thing we created was a short animation where one of us was using miniature cutlery to eat food, we liked the idea of having some oversized person using very tiny props. It was like something out of a dream or a cartoon. We then decided to have someone else attempt to 'attack' the person with the tiny cutlery before knocking over the table and other props. We kept this as a simple idea since it was only a workshop and we didn't have time on our side. We were impressed with the end product considering we hadn't put much technical effort into it, though the animation was pretty janky.

The next part of the workshop was looking at using the dragon frame, once again we decided on a simple idea to keep things easy on us. The idea was to have our friend spin however this time we tried to take a lot of frames to make this animation smoother than before. In the end we had 60 frames for the entire thing, which worked well in both 30fps and 60fps as they allowed the subject to spin at a decent speed without being too slow or being too fast to tell what was actually happening. Unfortunately we lost the export so I can't display the final outcome here.

After completing this workshop I felt like it gave me the chance to experiment with it a little. Having said that, I feel like it isn't something I want to further explore in the project. I didn't get any ideas or inspiration that I could use but that isn't to say I am against using animation in future. It's something that I feel has a lot of potential for my work if I decide to explore it further, most likely through digitial instead of stop frame.
